Besides running Lighthouse Creative, I'm getting a new company off the ground, this one focused on networking and the internet. I was talking with another company about teaming up, but that's fallen through for now. Hoping I'll have more to share next time.
I've officially joined the SITCON community. Lots more amazing people to meet.
Cool stuff and wins lately
Got invited to Taichung to give a talk to incoming NTU freshmen at the Freshmen College "Newbie Village Lectures."
Upgraded the company's server rack. Bought my first ever Cisco server plus a disk shelf, and moved all our services onto it.
In August I rebuilt the company website with Claude and added English pages. By the time I wrote this, ten clients had found us on their own, five of them from overseas, and we've closed three deals so far.
Other than that, not much that's all that cool. Room for improvement.
What I'm learning
Still learning about networking, and meeting more great people to build cool stuff with.
Life
Kept my sleep score high despite everything going on. My average in September was 6h53m a night.
Where I've been
Work trip to Orchid Island: one day of work, three days of fun. My second time there, and I love that little island.
Hong Kong with the owner of the company next door. Two lucky people plus one extreme "P" on the MBTI = basically no plan, yet we did everything we wanted and plenty we hadn't even thought of. We only bought early entry for Disneyland and somehow still did the whole park: 14 rides, 4 shows, 2 parades, the projection show and the fireworks. Totally worth it.
Was supposed to go camping in Hualien for a collab, but a typhoon hit
Work trip to Taoyuan, stayed at the Howard Plaza. The sauna was just okay, 6/10.
Went with a friend to do the Sun Moon Lake swim (my second time).
Events I've joined recently
議網情生, a youth internet governance exchange program
Signed up for SITCON, the Students' Information Technology Conference (only took me about eight years)
